Does it say in the DEP book? I remember reading Matt's when he left and it says something about the sit ups and pushups in there.. along with the running time. I think it was 1.5 mile run in 14 and some odd minutes for the girls.

I believe and please do correct me if I am wrong is that to even be allowed to go to boot camp u have to do 16 push ups 46 situps and run the 1.5 mile in 14 minutes or less.

46 pushups? Looks like I have a ways to go...I can only do about 30.

Everything is in the DEP book. But yes, 46 Push Ups.
Your best bet is to start off your day doing push ups and again before you go to sleep. Increase your amount every few days and in no time you'll be pushing 46 like no other.
One thing I've been doing which I don't really recommend unless you have a cool recruiter like mine, I keep 'forgetting' to write the date on the recerts so they 'punish' me with push-ups. It's just a way I keep myself motivated.

XD I can't even do 20. I'm a wimp like that. Give me sit-ups and I'll do as many as you like... but I can't do push ups worth my life.
Have me do those leg lunges and I'll gladly do thirty :P My legs are awesome from dance...
You're darn good for doing pushups. haha :) That's a feat I'll never accomplish

Not for girls, my friend. They have much more relaxed standards, lol.
Don't quote me on this, but push-ups *in* boot camp is 25, 40-sum situps, and 1.5 mile run in 14-15 minutes for young girls and it only gets easier for those that are 20+ yrs old. It's really nothing to worry about, honestly. If you can't pass a PFA in boot camp it's because you're just REALLY doing something wrong or have a medical condition. You'll get more than enough exercise to push yourself way past the minimum. Don't let physical standards keep you away from the Navy.
FYI, I have more than a couple of friends that lost 40+ lbs in boot camp. :sooohot:

XD I still couldn't do that much. Like I said, physical wimp. Give me leg crunches and sit ups.... but running is the worst physical exercise on the planet.

Running has got to be one of the easiest parts, honestly. You can always push yourself on a run... like... to the point of passing out. Sit-ups and push-ups, once your muscles call it quits it's extremely hard to continue. By the time you get to the part of boot camp where you *need* to pass, you should have no trouble unless you are just a special case. I only had 2 out of 87 fail in my division and they were just lacking heart to be honest. I.E. - They would slack off every time we got beat and spent 35% of boot camp SIQ or LLD trying to avoid exercising.

I was the girl in gym who would use her period as an excuse not to run. :P Of course, my coach would get extremely suspicious why I was having it two weeks instead of one out of every month. XD I was never good at lying to get out of things. I'm not good at lying period, so I just don't do it anymore. LOL. I'm bluntly honest - running sucks for me.

Treadmill for 5 minutes. That's about all the running you'll get out of me.
Unless you count when I play paintball or I'm chasing after my little brother when I babysit. :P
