My recruiter said that you get to pick your home port in the Navy. I know that it's not gauranteed you'll be put in the place you want to be. What are the best home ports in the Navy? Anyone have any favorite ports? any favorite rates? and what's life like at port & at sea? is there time for fun or is it just hard work? I know that there's Sea Rotations for some jobs & other jobs remain at port. The biggest thing I will be afraid of is being only stuck on a boat for four years. I would love to have a place I could call home while in the Navy. Right now I've narrowed my choices to three locations; Japan, Hawaii, & San Diego. I'd love to see the west coast. I've heard what my recruiters have said, but now I would love to hear it from individuals who have served in the navy or are currently serving.

The first question would be where are you from...Me personally when I do my dream sheet I'm putting Italy, Hawaii and back here at home in Virginia in Norfolk because both of my stepbrothers are stationed here and my familys here and I'm big on the whole family thing. And Norfolk is also a nice place to be stationed

Matt is going to be in Charleson for awhile, but as for as his dream sheet goes, I'm not sure. :)

You wouldn't want to go to California. Its bad there anymore. Trust me. I hate California with a passion. I only go to San Francisco and even that is starting to get bad (its pretty but really, its not safe). But that's up to you, sorry, lol. My opinions of California get strong (I was born there and I visit once every summer for my dad..)

Minnesota! :) Hey, I'm like 10 minutes away from the border ^-^ lol.

Your home port and dream sheet may depend on a few factors...like the rate you choose, and how high or low on the class standings after training. As far as California, there is only San Diego, but you could just put west coast, then you could even get Washington State. Nice up there...lots of rain though:undecided: My son loves San Diego, his apartment and friends there. Much different than what he grew up with in the northern CA mountains in snow country...yes we do get snow! Good luck and glad to have you here!

Northern Cali mountains do, lmao. I go snowboarding up there in Feb with my family. Otherwise it's just Nevada and the flats (Ceres)... which has snow that melts that very night.

I'm staring out my window now. Its snowing like the movies out here right now.. only a lot more slushy. *twitch*
