Hi all!
Name is Corey.
I am a dental student at NYU College of Dentistry, and will be going on active duty as a new O-3 once I graduate in May 2010. I am on the Navy Health Service Collegiate Program (HSCP) scholarship currently.
Just joined to find out a bit more about what to expect and to chat with folks, so "hello!"

Hey Corey,
Welcome on board! That's awesome that you chose to join after all your schooling when you could go anywhere or even start your own business. What made you decide the direction you are taking? I know the Navy will be proud to have you....as well as the rest of us. Good luck with the rest of school and definitely keep posting to learn more and connect with so many wonderful people. If you have ANY questions, ask away! More than likely you will get an immediate response. Everyone is extremely helpful. Thanks for wanting to serve our country! Take care,
Carly:)

Welcome!! :) Glad to have you aboard
The dentist thing is pretty awesome! ^-^ Lol. I'm curious too, what made you decide to join the Navy?

Thanks for the welcome!
A couple reasons made me choose the Navy route:
1. Less Debt from school
2. As a new dentist it's important to build some experience and speed and there's no better environment than military for that.
3. I'm not sure where I'd like to settle down yet (though I'm leaning to the pacific northwest coast), so seeing a bit more of the world via the Navy is great
4. And last, but not least, I personally think everyone should serve some time in the military to get a better appreciation of what we have in the USA!

:) Good luck. You have plenty of time to choose where you want to stay. Research it... that solves all my problems... I research things before I get into them so I know what I'm getting into. ^-^ You'll be glad you did.
Where in the pacific north west. I used to live in Nevada and California (and I've been to every state on the west you can count... lol!) I still have yet to go to the east. Soon here... when Matt goes to S.C. :)
