I absolutely LOVE SoCal but in all honesty I can't wait to get out and see something new. As long as I'm near the beach I don't care where I go. I live in Oxnard(pt Mugu/Port Hueneme) right now.

Welcome. My son is also a MA and he loves it.

That is AWESOME to hear :) I'm really really excited about it, October can't come soon enough!

I've been in your neck of the woods several times ... the Navy has a Construction Battalion and training school for SeaBees there.

My advice, if you really want to see something other than what you already know .... is to do your best in A-school and get into the top 10%. You get the first pick for orders and will have lots of choice in your future.

Mayport Florida, Pearl Harbor Hawaii .... there's LOTS of nice places by the beach. Norfolk Virginia is by the beach too ... just a little too cold for my taste !!

Cheers,
PISTOL

Chris... Point Mugu is where my son is drilling now. He was a NCS Sailor, horrible contract unless you want to be in the reserves. He did his active duty in Florida and came home to do his two years of reserve duty. He is planning on re-enlisting to go active again after that.

Good luck!!! :) If you have a girlfriend or wife, be sure to tell her you love her everyday until then... because it's hard when you're gone.

So I hear, we are kind of on and off but I've been so distracted with a ton of other things that have been going on to really notice what we are at this point in time.

:) Its really important to stay strong through this... its not gonna be easy... especially for you!

You nervous?

I'm not really worried about the whole girlfriend situation, I respect and trust her a lot so whatever she does I know she means well.

I'm not really nervous at this point in time. I'm positive as it gets closer to my ship date I'll start biting my nails a little but until then I'm counting down the days to me being able to quit my job and start a new life.

She's being strong about the whole thing. I'm going to address it in the near future though just so she can get whatever she's holding back off her chest. As for myself, like I said too busy to really notice what's going on around me

Correct, she's had experience though. one of her ex's from highschool joined as well so she knows what to expect for the first year or so.

Well that's good then. Experience makes things easier to handle.

And you're a very quick replier... o.O

LOL! I gave up on watching a movie a long time ago. At some point in time they had gone from hating each other with a passion to having a child.... O.o And I missed the inbetween
