Finally made it to florida

We we finally made it to florida. And our stuff got here about a week after we got here so like most navy family we had to sleep on the floor and just make due with what we had. Lol but we made it now things are startting to finally get settled down and we can start making friends here. So if anyone on here is station at the naval station in mayport florida i looking to make some friends here. Well talk to you all later.:smile:

Important lesson learned ....... invest in a compact blow-up mattress to bring with you. They are great to keep on hand for when friends and relatives come to visit. Wish we had one when we lived in Hawaii .... EVERYONE wants to come for a visit there !!


For your next move, you will be able to have them split it into two separate shipments.

The Personal Property Department can arrange to do a "rapid shipment" of the items that you will need immediately. They will have it shipped out a couple weeks before you get on the plane... blow-up mattresses, blankets & pillows, towels, a few cooking pans & dishes, more clothes ... etc. If your husband calls ahead, he may be able to get his sponsor to sign for the delivery so it will be waiting when you arrive.

The main shipment can show up later on bringing the furniture, the kids bikes and the lawn mower .... stuff like that.

It sounds like you did great with what you had and you got your hubby off to his new station without a hitch .... just like you knew you could !!

That pistol i will keep that in the back of my mind the next time we have to move for the navy. And yes i did get my husband to his new station in time we left on a wenesday night at 8pm from groton ct and drove all night we took turns two hours on and two hours off but by morning my husband was very tired so i did most of the driving we got here the next day thursday at 3:00pm in time to sign for the house and get a little light at night to look around out the town but we made it here and the best part was the kids where really good in the car ride even though they are so young. Well thanks for all the support now the really navy starts lol. Talk to you guys later.
