My boyfriend is in A School right now.... I am a little confused with the whole rank think i think he is still E1 but he was on hold and now he moved to techno class so does that mean he classed up ? And I have another question. .. do we have to married for us to live together or do I have to wait for him to be stationed or what? He said about 2 years before we an be together. I think he wants to finish school first or something.... can anybody help me with this puzzle? Sorry it's kind of vague I'm still getting used to this Navy Lingo.

If he was on hold, and now moved to his school, he probably has now classed up. Classing up does not mean he was promoted, just on to his training. Dont know how long or where his school is, but if he is not an E5 yet, which he wont be for a while, he has to either live on base while in school in the barracks, or when he gets to his first duty station, on the sip or barracks. Once he makes E5 he will get BAH, (basic housing assistance) and can afford to live off base in a place of his own. But many new sailors get together with friends and rent a place together when they get to a ship. SO, in answer to your question, you "could" live together when he gets to his first duty station, but it would cost him out of pocket expenses. But most likely not while he is in school.

He probably thinks it will be easier on both of you if you wait till then also. Financially and mentally.
He will be studying alot and until he knows where he is going and gets settled you will be basically put on the back burner. (so to say)... and if your back home with family and friends you will have their support.
Where as if you were with him you would be by yourself alot.
Being a sailor spouse or girlfriend is not easy, but then again nothing good in life comes easy..
