It's the new Navy Wife yet again! I spoke to my husband's recruiter about when i will get identification or insurance. He told me after bootcamp. Is this true and if so, how much longer after bootcamp? Is it a crazy procedure or do they make it a pretty smooth process?

Thanks SeminoleRob,
My stepdad is retired Navy and was puzzled when I said I had to wait. I guess there's just really no certainty. Just have to be patient and look for the paperwork when it comes in the mail. Thanks again for the route to the old post. Guess I should've looked it up first!

Hi I hope I am doing this right??? I read your question and have exactly the same one. My son in law just went to boot camp 2 weeks ago and my daughter is trying to prepare to move her and her 3 children to San Diego. However she has not recieved anything yet no ID, similar to your question a few months ago. I was just wondering how it went for you and how long it took to get everything that you needed from the navy, as I am just concerned that she may be jumping the gun so to speak and with 3 small children she needs to have everything in place before she makes this move. I would appreciate any info you could give me to pass on to her so she can have kind of an idea of how long all this stuff takes.
God bless.... Ginny

I might ask why she is moving to San Diego at this time? He would have some other schooling after boot camp, and even then, he may not get San Deigo as his duty station. Depending on the rate he is will determin how long his A school and possibly more after that, and then what places are open for him to put infor on his dream sheet. Even then it is never certain.
