Hello everybody. I am interested in joining the Navy and would like insite from some of you if this would be a good path for me. I have looked over and over again on the Navy website and taken all of their tests to deteremine what I would be best at. It's really great to know that the Navy offers such a diverse amount of career paths. I am looking to get into the Nursing profession - not too sure what direction but the ER sounds really interesting.

I just also want to know about boot camp. I am in okay of shape, it's just that I know I can't run 1.5 miles and doing crunches and sit-up's just kills me. I just don't have any strength and am very concerend once I join if that will be my downfall. The last thing I want is to be discharged.

I would also like to know how soon after getting out of boot camp can you start school.

I am just wanting to get all of the information I can before I make my desicion. I don't want to go into this blind.

Thanks alot everyone.

Welcome.
Start working out now to get in shape and it won't be so hard at boot camp.
RUN, run, run....
They usually go straight from boot camp to A school.

Welcome .........

The medical field would be great. Between taking care of sailors and soldiers, you could also be helping people in other countries. Navy medical is some of the best in the world ......... that's why the President goes to Bethesda !!!

I really wouldn't sweat the fact that you can't run or do crunches etc ... now. You will be able to do more than you ever thought possible with the right guidance, training and opportunity. That is what the military is best at !!

Have you already taken your ASVAB ???

Get in there and talk to the recruiter .... we can clear up the things that you don't understand.

Cheers,
PISTOL
