I want to join the navy, I will be driving 3 hours on wed to talk to a recruitor but I heard that if you have more than one dependent you can not enlist, i have 2 kids and my husband hasnt had much work in a while due to his type of work, also my credit is bad so does that mean I wont be able to join?
thanks for any help

If your husband is the one to stay home with the kids and raise them, two is not a problem. The credit "could" be a problem. If you have things in collections, or in the process of bankruptcy, you may be denied. You need to be really honest and upfront with your recruiter and that way you will find true answers.

oh thank you, yes the biggest problem is we owe 4000 in back child support that we are going to try to pay off this year with taxes or atleast all of what ever we get back in taxes, other than that its just old phone bills or electric bills and some medical bills, i have paid off almost all of one electric bill but money is tight, also yes he would be the one to saty home with the kids, since his work is so scarce,
thank you so much for your help

My advice is to call the recruiting office first. Explain the details of your family and financial situation .... might save you / or the recruiter the trouble & expense of driving 3 hours to get the same info.

....... recruiters can & do make house calls provided you screen as eligible over the phone !!! If they feel that they can work with you, simply ask them to "swing by the house the next time you are in the neighborhood". As a prior recruiter ... I rarely turned down a free cup of coffee or meal !! (hint, hint)

The conversation might go like ... " I am pretty busy during the day and by the time I drive the 3 hours to get there... they would be closed and home eating dinner with their family. My weekends are obligated at my house so ... can't make it on the weekend either ......" (you follow me ???)
