Hey guys, so I really am wanting to join the Navy. The thing is they seem to think I have Rynauds (cold hands). After getting the blood tests from my dr. saying I don't have it (he wrote a long letter saying I don't have it). "That's just how my body is." Said my dr.
My recruiter told me to sit down with my dr. and ask him if I have Rynauds. If I don't, have him send another letter saying that's bs and I don't have it.
What do you guys think I should do? I really want to join because college isn't for me and nothing is happening on this side of town.

If you don't have it you don't have to say anything... Answer the medical questionaire accordingly
and keep a copy of the letter from you Dr that you don't just in case something comes up.
Feel free to p.m. me with questions about answering medical questions..... It all boils down to how you answer questions.....
Example:
Have you ever had a EKG? yes no
Lots of people have had other issue's where they do a 2 d echo (heart test) and test came back negative....
So they circle no.... and keep mouth shut on 2 d echo... cause that questions was not asked....
The key is not to tell anything that is not directly asked...
Alot of boys come through our office getting records for military enlistement... The boys that have a real problem and shoudn't being going in --- unfortunyly lie and get caught in boot on their medical condition...
The boys that are more than honest with some stupid petty 1x medical condition or attention getter complaint or overzealous parents.. they get denied or have to fight to get in.... I don't know how many letters I have written for the Dr to sign for boys to get in, for petty conditions or non conditions cause the parents are overcautious and want them medicated to get through the teen years... LOL.
That they should have just kept their mouth shut about..
Before anybody jumps me on that one there are TRUE ADD kids who are medicated and there are some that are not but the parents demand them be put because they are not getting the grades they think they should or not as perfect as they should be... LOL..
There has to be a medical reason their child is not perfect... LOL>.... I LOVE MY JOB! ! ! ! !
Just remember to stay within the guilines on the questions if it doesn't fall in the quidelines - don't say anthing.... Just remember questions are very black or white...... some small conditions are very gray, and there are some conditions that are very black or white....
Just have Dr write letter stating that you don't... LOL... just remeber cold hands warm heart... I have cold hands too and don't have Raynauds....

Ok ... I'm confused. Who is the "THEY" who thinks that you have Rynauds ?? Did you go to MEPs and that Dr told you this or was it someone outside of there ??
If it was the docs at MEPs then you will have to have good do***entation to back up the mis-diagnosis, possibly even getting a second or third opinion & letters from them to present to MEPs.
If it was someone else who diagnosed this .... and if it isn't anywhere in your medical records ... then IT DOESN'T EXIST and shouldn't be brought up ... at all !! (catch what I'm saying ??)
I fought tooth and nail for a kid who's mom told him that he had asthma when he was a kid ..... but it "went away". Never diagnosed by a doctor .... just Dr. Mom. He made the mistake of telling the docs at MEPs and when they heard the A-word ... he was screwed. He finally got in but it was after I transferred.
For anyone who hasn't gon to MEPs or even to the recruiter yet ...
UNLESS IT CAN BE PROVEN IN YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS ... KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED !! Let the docs at MEPs try to find something wrong, don't get diarhea of the mouth.
Ever hear the saying "Loose lips sink ships" ??? It has several applications ... this being the first one.

They is the dr.s at the Navy. In other words, my waiver was dq'd. But if I don't have what they think I have then that's bs. They noticed my colored cold hands (not raynauds) at Meps.

Gotcha .... yep, it's gotta go the looong way now. I would start making Dr. appointments now to have 2-3 docs assess this and give their recommendations. However ... simply saying "that's just the way you are made" is probably not gonna fly. I know it makes sense to you and I and probably 99% of the rest of the world, but they should be able to be a little more detailed than that.
Maybe your blood veins are located deeper under the skin than usual ?? I'm really not sure what difference that makes anyway ... but thats probably why I'm not a doctor.
