I heard from Kristie this morning and she asked that I let everyone know that they are OK. They still don't have power and it could be a month or so. Their house came through the hurricane with minor damage.
She was chcking her mail from church this morning.

I'm glad they're okay, too. I call home like every day, thank goodness this ship has outside lines so I dont have to stand in line for the pay phones. Thanks for the prayers =]

Things are slowly getting put back together in the Houston area ... luckily for all involved, it has been cool enough to keep tempers down.
Glad to hear they are doing ok. We have several people here at work who still don't have power. Kinda like going camping ... but getting to sleep in your own bed !!
Cheers,

WOW.....I did not even know where to start on posts...lol....so many posts....I am lost! I have power and internet here at my office finally but home is another story....lol.....they are saying sometime this week but you guys would not believe what it looked like driving back into our neighbor hood....(we did have to evacuate).....it was like a war zone, I have never seen anything like it before....much worse than Rita 3 years ago....
The damage is so wide spread around here.....I am so blessed that we only had the storm door ripped off, 2 storm windows broken and minor roof damage which caused some leaking.....when the storm door came off water flowed in and has damaged the carpet in the living room and a hall way.....but we needed new carpet anyway. I am just so thankful that they house was still here.....
We got a generator 3 years ago when Rita took out our power for 2 weeks so we were prepeared....our grandbabies are with us along with their parents since they do not have generator and we are able to run fans to help a bit....it is so hard on them....weather has been cool up until this last weekend....it started getting really hot but we will be fine...
Thank you so much everyone for praying for me and thank you to Jennifer and Debbie for keeping everyone updated....I love you guys!

Thanks for the offers guys.....I REALLY appreciate it a lot. We were blessed last night by the power coming back on at 9 pm....only bad thing was we rushed to get all the windows closed but dear husband said AC would not come on....well I was in a panic state....lololol....not really. I am doubly blessed as husband works on refrigeration and air conditioning for a living and he had the part we needed so last night I slept with the AC on 70....lolol....it was just wonderful!
I want to publically thank all those of you who live in a state that sent your power companies to assist us. We saw trucks from Canada....how cool is that. They all worked so hard....3 years ago during Rita we were without power for 2 weeks and this time the damage was much worse and we were only without power for 10 days.....what a blessing all those guys were!

Reaaaaalllllly ..... I may need to see if he can give me a good refresher in AC&R ... I am seeing some large gaps in my trouble shooting knowledge after being out of it for so long .
Glad to hear that you have your power back .... life is good again !!
