So I've been a deper for quite some time and ship out in early Nov. My field is AEF/AECF and I am excited to go. I've been very good about studying know all my general orders, vocab, alphabet, creed, mission, time, and anchors aweigh.

I've also been pretty good on the physical part and should have no problem passing both my pqs and my prt.

There is just something that really set me off today about bootcamp..

I've known from the day I enlisted that I wanted to be on the 900 division (drill/honor team) twirlin' those rifles. I am very upset to learn that this is a first come first serve position. I mean, I might not have had any drill experience or have been an ROTC 4 year driller, but I would have worked my butt off to participate on the rifle team.

I have heard so many different stories about joining the 900 division-- everything from "it's strictly volunteer on a first come first get in basis" to "RDC's decide who gets to be in" to "being at the right place at the right time" and even to "strictly for rotc nazis".

Even if I could not become part of the rifle team, I would still like to be at least in the color gaurd or as a flag bearer...

If anyone could supply me with an answer from personal experience or some well-rounded facts I'd greatly appreciate it.

thanks.

thanks, I don't think I'd want to participate in the instrument part but I'll still take division 900 over any division..
