Steve,
I'm in kind of the same situation as you right now with the whole weight lose thing. I am only 5 pounds away, but all together in the past few months I have droped 20 LBS. With football practice and eating healthy you are already doing all the right things. I would maybe suggest that if you can not hit the weight room too hard, that might help you drop a little. Because if you are playing football and lifting a lot, you are adding more & more muscle everyday which translates into your inability to drop any more weight. Also, when I started trying to lose weight, I stopped drinking pop & coffee and started only drinking water. Right off the bat that helped me lost 5 pounds in the first week. Talk to your recruiter about whether you need to focus on your body fat% or total body weight, because knowing that you can get better tips to adjust your eating habits & work out plan. Other than that, good luck. I know where you are coming from.

keep doing what you're dong, and like he said, maybe keep away from the weights unless you're doing low weights with a high repetition. no cokes or candy and stuff like that...i'm trying to keep away from it all myself! keep your head up, you're doing good!

Yep ... muscle weighs more than fat. So if you are packing on muscle mass due to weight lifting ... you are taking a step backwards.

Try swimming .... it gives you a total body workout and is easier on the joints !! Running a slower pace for longer distances will also help you burn your body's remaining fat stores.

Bike riding is another good plan .... 15 miles a day is a good goal. Once your butt gets used to the added attention from the seat ... you will learn to love riding for distance !!

Do wrestling when the season comes up! You have to drop weight in order to do that and I'm sure it'd help. Other than that, stay away from any fatty foods, like pastas and greasy pizzas and no sodas or sugary foods. And keep your exercize up!!
